Hot day. Cold drink. Beer? Soda? Or both?
All over France, the Panach--bier (beer) and limonade (lemon soda)--make a perfect pair. In fact, now you can even buy that winning combination in cans. But it's not limited to France. In other parts of Europe, the same drink goes by a different name. Order a Shandy in Britain or a Radler in Germany, and you'll get a Panach.
I remember traveling in Southern France a few summers ago, where the drink of choice seemed to be the Monaco, a Panach with grenadine. I've never seen these combinations in the U.S. But what about you?
Are you mixing it up too? What are you drinking this summer?
